Blue Streak Automatic Toilet Chemical Dispenser Kit - Real World Review
I’ve installed the Blue Streak Automatic Toilet Chemical Dispenser Kit in several of my RVs over the years, and I wanted to share my experience with this product for anyone considering it.
Why I Love This System
The biggest advantage is chemical savings. Instead of dumping a large amount of toilet chemical into your black tank at once, this system meters the perfect amount with every flush. You’re not wasting expensive chemicals, and you’re getting consistent treatment throughout your camping trip.
How It Works
The Blue Streak uses a clever venturi system built into a T-valve. When water flows through the valve during a flush, it creates a vacuum that draws chemical from the wall-mounted reservoir and mixes it automatically. The system delivers approximately one ounce of chemical per 5 gallons of water, giving you that perfect sky blue to royal blue color in your toilet bowl.
Installation Tips from My Experience
Pay attention to the arrow! The T-valve has a directional arrow that must point toward the toilet in the direction of water flow. This is critical for proper operation.
Reservoir placement matters. Mount the reservoir no higher than the top of your toilet - it can go lower or even in a basement compartment, but never higher.
Use silicone sealer religiously. When connecting or reconnecting the line to the reservoir, always apply silicone sealer to the fitting. There’s a mold line on the stem that can leak if you skip this step - learned that one the hard way!
That pinch clamp is for service only. The tube clamp between the tank and T-valve is strictly for maintenance - don’t use it to try to adjust the chemical ratio. The metering happens automatically in the valve and isn’t adjustable.
Installation Difficulty
Honestly, it’s pretty straightforward if you’re comfortable with basic RV plumbing. The hardest part is finding a good spot for the reservoir and making sure you have the valve orientation correct.
Bottom Line
After using these in multiple RVs, I’m convinced this is one of the better upgrades you can make to your black tank system. Consistent chemical dosing, reduced waste, and one less thing to remember when using the toilet. The system just works.
Anyone else running one of these? I’d love to hear about your experiences or answer any questions about the installation.
